Helping a Hero is a 501(c)(3) non profit, non-partisan organization, founded in 2006, that provides support for military personnel severely injured in the war on terror. Our principal activity is to provide specially adapted homes for qualifying service members through partnerships made with the builders, developers, communities, and the veteran. Helping a Hero strives to engage the community in providing services and resources for our wounded heroes and their families. Additionally, Helping a Hero provides support programs such as marriage retreats, caregiver retreats, recreational activities, emotional support, and financial support.

The goal of our organization is to help alleviate the problem of homelessness among our veterans and their families by assisting with transitional and permanent housing. The Veterans Resource Center is managed by the Homeless Veterans Services of Dallas, Inc. HVSD is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless or at-risk veterans and their families. The Veterans Resource Center provides a first point of contact for veterans needing to connect to nonprofit, employment, educational and VA resources, in order to provide paths towards self-sufficiency. Day Center- Provides homeless and re-integrating veterans with centric day services including, but not limited to access to showers, laundry (future), workout room, computer lab, healthcare services, Veteran Service Officers on sight to help you with veteran benefits. Female Resource Center (Coming soon)- Will provide safe and female-oriented care and services for female veterans.
